Once again, if you have an idea the odds are that someone has already solved it. Which is a very good thing. In this case it was the good folks at MIT who’ve developed some interesting widgets under the simile project. So this project is to use their timeline widget to do some comparative history…
First, I was able to get the local example working.
Second, I was able to install the timeline code on the server and get it working.

Next steps will be to see if I can set it up to use a database as a source and to allow you to select different data sets for each of the timelines. I’m sure someone else has already done this too….
